FAQ Reversing cameras — Everything you need to know
What is a reversing camera and why do you use it?
A reversing camera gives the driver a better view of the rear and reduces the risk of accidents when reversing. It is used in everything from passenger cars to large work machines and trucks.
How does a reversing camera work in practice?
The camera is placed at the rear of the vehicle and transmits video in real time to a monitor in the cab. There are both wireless and wired reversing camera systems.
What to consider before buying a reversing camera?
There are several questions you should ask yourself before buying a reversing camera, such as:
• What vehicle should the camera be on?
• Do I want to be able to record video?
• Do I need audio recording?
• Is one camera enough, or do I need more?
• Is it important that the system is EMC approved?
Can you have multiple cameras connected to the same screen?
Yes, you can connect multiple cameras to the same screen, for example, to be able to view different angles — something that is especially useful in, for example, horse transport or construction equipment.
What are the advantages of wireless reversing cameras compared to wired?
Wireless systems are easier to install, especially on larger vehicles. Wired systems, on the other hand, provide a stable connection without the risk of interference.
How do I know if a camera is digital or analog?
Digital systems often have better image quality and more features. Analog cameras are simpler but reliable when properly installed.
Is it difficult to mount a reversing camera yourself?
It depends on your experience. Many people choose to do the installation themselves. Installation instructions and wiring diagram are always included, or available digitally, when you purchase a reversing camera from us. If you are not sure, we recommend contacting a workshop. See Stefan Hildingsson mount a reversing camera here.
Do you have reversing cameras for trailers?

Do you have a good reversing camera for motorhomes?

Do you have reversing cameras that work for tractors and construction machines?
Yes we do. We have everything from complete reversing camera systems — both wireless and wired — in various price ranges to monitors, cameras and HD cameras, accessories, mounts and cabling.
Is it allowed to mount a reversing camera at the license plate?
Yeah, it's fine as long as the camera doesn't cover the actual sign.
Do your cameras have assembly instructions and wiring diagram?
Yes, our products always come with clear instructions for both assembly and connection. In some cases, the instructions are available digitally.
Does cheaper reversing cameras offer good value?
A cheap camera can work great — as long as it matches your needs. Do a needs analysis before buying for best results.
What screen size is most common for reversing cameras?
7 inches is a popular and practical size that fits most vehicles without taking up too much space. Other examples of inch sizes include 5 inches, 9 inches, and 10 inches.
Are there reversing cameras with a built-in microphone?
Yes, some models offer audio recording. It is a matter of taste if you want both image and sound when reversing. We have cameras both with and without sound recording.
Are there reversing cameras with recording function in the monitor?
Yes, there are. The recording function allows you to see at a later date what has happened around the vehicle while driving. Please note that video recording may require permission, depending on the assembly and what is being monitored.
What does it mean that a reversing camera is EMC approved?
This means that the camera does not interfere with other electronics in the vehicle -- an important detail, especially for modern vehicles.

Can you buy monitors separately if you already have a reversing camera?

Is it possible to have your reversing cameras in a horse transport?
Absolutely. With one camera mounted inside the trailer and another mounted at the rear of the trailer, you can see behind the vehicle when you are reversing and keep an eye on the horse during the ride.
Can a reversing camera be used for anything other than looking back?
Absolutely. The possibilities are almost limitless. You can mount the camera on buckets, implements, aftermarket vehicles, balers, combine harvesters or front loaders — wherever you need a better overview.

• improve safety
• detect hidden obstacles
